LONG day

We just got back from our second day trip to CT in 3 days.  This time it was a 9-5:30 outing with 60 miles of hilly bike riding.  The course for the Rev3 Tri is going to be a challenging one.  I don't know if it was my tired legs or the many, many hills that made the course seem endless.  It was VERY pretty though and I actually took the time to notice lots of things along the way.  At about 2/3 of the way through the course we go by the Winvian spa/resort.  I'd read a few things about this place in the NYtimes, so it was kinda neat to look up and recognize some of the "cottages" I'd seen photos of.  We rode all throughout the Litchfield hills area where lots of people have country homes.  It made me really happy that RL is on this side of the River and that it is tucked away on a dirt road.  And our perfectly manicured patch of grass is maintained in-house by the part-time caretaker, SJ, and his green thumb!!   The wild turkeys may be ready to be thankgiving dinner with all the grass seed they've eaten, but the field looks even better than it did at the wedding--thanks to all of SJ's hard work.

Time to make dinner last night.  Too bad it won't be as good as last night's memorial day meal -- Indian turkey burgers. mmmmm!
