Memorial Day Weekend

The first official weekend of summer was full of training, visiting, outside eating, and some, just a little bit of relaxing!

We started off the weekend with a visit from JM and CT Bill, who along with A&R joined us for a LONG bike ride on Saturday morning.  We did 2 of the bigger climbs around here and then went "all the way" over to the other side of the thruway.  After the ride we had to do a hard transition run while everyone else ate huge burritos from Mexicali Blue.

That afternoon we went over to the opening day of the outdoor pool--just so that we could have the first splash.  It was freezing!!  But, at least now 2 of the 4 possible swimming options in New Paltz are open!!  We could swim at a different place everyday, especially if you count the pond.

SJ jumped in the pond yesterday after his 2 day long attack on all of our Poison Ivy.  Unfortunately, he fell victim to the poisonous oils and went to work this morning with itchy arms.

The highlight of the weekend was going over to Connecticut to celebrate the 'rents 40th anniversary.  Bubba put on a great spread and it was great to see everyone, including the B's from Germany!  Sam was so incredibly cute, as usual.  One cute thing he did was come over to me and sing the Clean Up song when we saw me drying off the outdoor chairs after it rained.  Did I mention that he knows my name???  We gave the 'rents a photo from St. Anthony's and he went up to it, pointed and said "Aunt Bec".  Later that night he came over to me and said Aunt Bec--he's only 20 months!!  Karl and I have been working on this phrase since he was about 3 months!!   And, speaking of babies that are at least 6 weeks ahead of the rest of the kids their age, Ea is about to walk.  He actually was beating Sam in a race up the stairs.
