There's another big race happening this weekend as well: the NYARA Longest Day adventure race, put on by Amy & Rodney. SJ's signed up in the solo category (he usually races w/ A&R but since they are race directing this one, he's without a team!) and will probably be contending for the win, as long as he stays strong throughout the entire 27 hours of racing. The race starts at the Ulster County Fairgrounds and the first portion is a paddle on the Wallkill. After that, the course is still a mystery. I'm planning to head down to the river bright and early tomorrow morning to cheer on the racers--most of whom will be continuing to race all day and night long, and finishing about the same time we'll be finishing Rev3.

Revving up for the race this weekend. Actually, revving up is more like resting up. I think I'm going to need to be as fresh as possible for this race!! This morning we went out for a nice 30 minute run in the woods. Nothing beats stepping out the front door right for the start of a trail run. For the next few hours I'll be warming up for a cold swim and then prepping my bike for race day.
